Rage Against The Machine<\/em> guitarist Tom Morello<\/strong> will co-direct the band’s official documentary: The Ballad of Judas Priest<\/em>, a production that promises to show the Brits as they have never been seen before. <\/p>\n\n Co-directed with Sam Dunn<\/strong>(Metal: A Headbanger’s Journey<\/em>), the film will be distributed by Sony Music Vision<\/strong> and is billed as an intimate, visceral and revealing portrait of Judas Priest’s long journey from their origins in Birmingham to their consolidation as metal icons and members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.<\/p>\n\n \u201cThe cassock comes off… and we reveal Priest in all its metal glory,\u201d the band states in the official release.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n The choice of Tom Morello as co-lead may seem surprising, but it makes perfect sense. Beyond being one of the most innovative guitarists in modern rock, Morello is a passionate advocate of metal as a cultural and political language. His bond with Judas Priest is emotional, generational and musical. In recent years, Halford has spoken openly about his sexuality and how to live it in an industry that, for decades, hid it all. <\/p>\n\n \u201cComing out of the closet was the best thing I could do for myself,\u201d Halford said in an interview with NME<\/em>. \u201cThe band always knew. The audience, too. But there was something liberating about saying it.
