Three years after Autofiction<\/em>, and after touring more than 14 countries, the legendary Suede<\/strong> are back. The British band presents its tenth studio album<\/strong>, Antidepressants<\/em>, which will be released on September 5, 2025<\/strong> via BMG. The first preview, “Disintegrate”,<\/strong> is now available and makes it clear that Suede have not come to settle in, but to reinvent post-punk from contemporary anxiety<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Broken music for broken people<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

With a raw, edgy and emotionally tense sonic aesthetic, Antidepressants<\/em> promises to be an album that speaks directly to the fissures of the present. “It’s about the stresses of modern life, the paranoia, the anxiety, the neurosis. We’re all looking to connect on a disconnected planet,” Brett Anderson<\/strong> explained in announcing the release. “It’s broken music for broken people.” <\/p>\n\n

This new work recaptures the intensity of Autofiction<\/em>, but takes it further: while that was “our punk record,” Antidepressants<\/em> will be “our post-punk record,” Anderson confesses. With production by Ed Buller<\/strong>, the historic collaborator who worked on their first single in 1992(The Drowners<\/em>), the band has channeled the energy of their recent shows into an album that sounds organic, violent and urgent<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

“Disintegrate”: raw, distorted and addictive.<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

The first preview, Disintegrate<\/em>, is a dark and elegant explosion at the same time. The video, filmed in black and white by Chris Turner<\/strong>, shows the band reduced to its essence: a distorted live performance, without filters, without corrections. It is an aesthetic statement of intent, and makes it clear that Suede has found new life in imperfection. <\/p>\n\n

Southbank Centre: a residence to remember<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

To celebrate the release, Suede have announced Suede Takeover<\/strong>, an artist residency at London’s Southbank Centre, where they will perform four unique concerts<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n

    The band promises covers, blues, drama, melody, noise, sweat and surprises<\/strong>. It will be an unprecedented emotional display, ideal for longtime fans and for a new generation that identifies with their melancholic and visceral lyrics. <\/p>\n\n

    Recorded in Belgium, London and Sweden, Antidepressants<\/em> will be released on standard CD, deluxe, colored vinyl, picture disc, cassette and a deluxe box set. The songs include titles such as Broken Music for Broken People<\/em>, Trance State<\/em>, Sweet Kid<\/em> or Life Is Endless, Life Is A Moment<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n
