After five years of recording silence, Haim<\/strong> is back. The Californian trio formed by Alana, Danielle and Este Haim<\/strong> officially announced their new album titled I Quit<\/em>, which will be released on June 20th<\/strong> through Columbia Records<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

The announcement comes accompanied by the release of their third single from 2025, “Down to Be Wrong,”<\/strong> a song that confirms the mature and emotional return of the group that redefined 2010s indie-pop.<\/p>\n\n

A new, more introspective stage<\/h2>\n\n

Produced by Danielle Haim<\/strong> in collaboration with Rostam Batmanglij<\/strong> (former Vampire Weekend, now a top producer on the alternative scene), I Quit<\/em> marks a turning point for the Haim sisters. As revealed in a concept video, the album revolves around the idea of leaving behind everything that doesn’t serve: overthinking, addictions, shame, toxic relationships… and even unsatisfying jobs. <\/p>\n\n

The visual piece presented as a preview of the album lists a series of “I quit” statements – “I renounce…”- that give shape to the emotional background of the project.<\/p>\n\n

“Down to Be Wrong” and the sound of vulnerability.<\/h2>\n\n

“Down to Be Wrong”<\/strong>, the new single, explores the acceptance of mistakes and personal contradictions. With a sober but elegant production, the sisters combine clean guitars, minimalist percussion and their characteristic vocal harmonies to convey a mix of resignation and tenderness. <\/p>\n\n

This track follows the year’s two previous releases “Relationships”<\/strong> and “Everybody’s Trying to Figure Me Out,”<\/strong> cementing a narrative of self-exploration and emotional release.<\/p>\n\n

The music video, available now on platforms, continues the intimate aesthetic line that defines this era of Haim.<\/p>\n\n

Paul Thomas Anderson: A collaboration that continues<\/h2>\n\n

Legendary filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson<\/strong>, a personal friend of the Haim family, is once again collaborating with the sisters. Anderson was commissioned to photograph the cover of I Quit<\/em>, just as he did with their previous album Women in Music Pt. III <\/em> (2020), which was critically acclaimed and appeared on multiple lists of the best albums of the decade.<\/p>\n\n

Also, remember that Anderson directed several Haim music videos and was the one who catapulted Alana Haim<\/strong> to the movies as the protagonist of Licorice Pizza<\/em> (2021), an Oscar-nominated film.<\/p>\n\n
