The wait is over! Japanese Breakfast<\/strong>, the band led by visionary Michelle Zauner, has announced their fourth studio album, For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women)<\/em>, and released its first single: ‘Orlando In Love’.<\/strong> They have also revealed the dates of their highly anticipated 2025 world tour. <\/p>\n\n

A Gothic and Romantic Twist on its Sound<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n

After winning over audiences with the critically acclaimed Jubilee<\/em> and Zauner’s literary success with her book Crying In H Mart<\/em>, Japanese Breakfast is ready to delve into darker and deeper territories. Produced by Grammy winner Blake Mills<\/strong> (Sky Ferreira, Fiona Apple), this new album promises to be a masterpiece: “a mature, intricate and contemplative work that evokes the romantic emotion of a gothic novel,” according to a press release. <\/p>\n\n

Inspired by the landscape of European Romanticism, For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women)<\/em> marks a radical departure from the band’s previous sounds, such as the futuristic approach of Soft Sounds from Another Planet<\/em> (2017) and the vibrant energy of Jubilee<\/em> (2021).<\/p>\n\n

The first preview of this new era is ‘Orlando In Love’,<\/strong> a song that combines literary references with an emotionally charged atmosphere.
